ナスを収穫しました。

今年は、秋ナスとして２本、夏に１本だったので、合計３本と不作でした。

不作の原因は、連作障害の影響かと思います。

合わせて、赤シソも収穫しました。

今年のナスと赤シソの栽培は終了です。

I harvested two eggplants.

Totally, 3 eggplants were harvested in this year, two were in the fall and one was in the summer.

I guess the continuous crop every year caused  the small amount of harvested eggplant.

I also harvested red perilla.

Cultivation of the eggplant and red the perilla were finished with in this season.

クウシンサイの収穫/Harvest of Water Spinach

クウシンサイを収穫しました。

前回の収穫から約２週間、脇芽からニョキニョキ伸びてきました。

About two weeks after the last harvest, as axillary buds are growing steadily, I harvested the water spinach.

クウシンサイの葉に所々に、虫喰いが。。。よく見ると侵入者！

There are some insect-eaten leaves of the water spinach. . . 

Watching closely, it's an invader!

オンブバッタです。

厳密には、いただけで、葉っぱを食べているかどうかわかりません。

It's a grasshopper.

Strictly speaking, I don't know if he is eating leaves or not.

ナスの実が、大きくなってきました。

 The eggplant fruit is getting bigger.

3.土寄せ：長ネギ/EARTHING UP: SCALLION

長ネギは、徐々に枯れていき、残り２株となりました。

前回の土寄せから、約１か月、長ネギの土寄せしました。

The scallion gradually withered and two plants remained. 

I earthed up the scallion in the container again one month after last earthing up.

先週に続いて、クウシンサイを収穫しました。

先週収穫した株も、脇芽がグングン生長しています。

近日中に、また、収穫できそうです。

I harvested the water spinach again in this week. 

Moreover, axillary buds of the plant harvested last week are growing steadily. 

It is likely that I will be able to harvest again in the near future.

1.収穫：クウシンサイ、ニラ/Harvest: Water Spinach and Garlic Chives 

2.状況：ナス/Condition: Eggplant

1.収穫：クウシンサイ、ニラ/Harvest: Water Spinach and Garlic Chives 

ハダニの襲撃もありましたが、ようやくクウシンサイを収穫できました。

種まきが6月中旬だったので、収穫まで２か月かかりました。

ついでに、ニラも収穫しました。

暑くなって、生長が遅くなったせいか、こちらも２ヶ月ぶりの収穫でした。

I was finally able to harvest the water spinach although there was the damage by the spider mites.

It took two months to harvest  from the seeding in mid-June. 

Moreover I also harvested garlic chives.

The harvest was the first time in two months after the last  harvest because the growth might slow down due to the crazy heat in this summer.

2.状況：ナス/Condition: Eggplant

ナスは、実をつけませんが、葉は茂っています。

ときどき、花もつけます。

Eggplant does not have the fruit, but the plant is in full leaf. 

Sometimes it gets the flowers.

ハダニの襲撃/Spider mite's attacking

2022年8月6日、本日の最高気温は28.3℃、最低気温は22.3℃です。

1.ハダニ：クウシンサイ/Spider mites: Water Spinach

2.栽培終了：キュウリ/End of Cultivation: Cucumber

クウシンサイの葉が、マダラに白く、さらに、赤いポツポツが…

よく見ると、虫！　調べると、ハダニでした。

駆除の方法としては、霧吹きで水を与えて、溺死させるとのこと。

さっそく試してみました。

The leaves of the water spinach have white spotted and there are a some red spots on the leaves...

Watching closely, these are pests "spider mite"!!

As a how to exterminate, give water them with a sprayer and drowned them.

I tried it right away.

赤いポツポツがハダニです/These red spots are spider mites.

2.栽培終了：キュウリ/End of Cultivation: Cucumber

キュウリが枯れました。

今年は、一本も収穫できず。

残念です。

The cucumbers have died as the following picture.

I have been able to  harvest nothing in this year.

2022年プランターでのトウモロコシとつるありインゲンの栽培まとめ/Summary of Corn and Vine Type Green Beans Cultivation in Container

2022年のプランターでのトウモロコシ栽培のまとめです。

トウモロコシのコンパニオンプランツとして、つるありインゲンと一緒の栽培に挑戦してみました。

今年は、残念なことに失敗に終わりました。

This is a summary of corn cultivation in container in 2022.

Moreover, I cultivated the vine type green beans as the companion plant for corn.

But, unfortunately, it ended in failure in this year.

3月31日：トウモロコシの種まき/Seeding of corn on 31st March

トウモロコシの種を蒔きました。

I seeded corn in a small pot.

１つのポットに３つぶ種を蒔きました。

I planted three seeds per 1 pot.

4月16日：トウモロコシの発芽（種まき17日目）/Sprout of corn on 16th April (17 days after seeding)

トウモロコシは、種まき後、約17日で発芽しました。

３ポット中、２ポットで、各ポット１本づつ芽がでました。

Corn sprouted 17 days after seeding.

Each one plant sprouted in two pots. But there is no sprout in other one pot. 

5月15日：様子（種まき46日目）/Condition on 15th May (46 days after seeding)

最初に、種を蒔いた９粒うち発芽は、２本のみでした。

また、その２本も生長がまちまちです。

4月30日に追加で、蒔いた種も発芽しています。

Only 2 plants among  9 seed were sprouted.

In addition, the growth of the two plants is uneven.

Seeds which were seeded on 30th April were sprouted.

つるありインゲンの種を蒔きました。

I seeded the vine type green beans  in a small pot.

１つのポットに３つぶ種を蒔きました。

I planted three seeds per 1 pot.

5月22日：つるありインゲンの発芽（種まき8日目）/Sprout of vine type green beans on 22nd May (8 days after seeding)

つるありインゲンが、種まきから１週間で、発芽しました。

種が大きかったことあり、逞しい芽がでています。

Vine type green beans were sprouted  one week after seeding.

6月4日：定植（トウモロコシの種まき66日目）/Planting on 4th June(66 days after seeding)

ジャガイモを収穫した後、トウモロコシとつるありインゲンを定植しました。

トウモロコシは、種まき66日目と種まき36日目の定植となりました。

I planted corn and vine type green beans after harvesting the potatoes.

Corn were planted on the 66 days and the 36 days after seeding.

つるありインゲンは、種まき21日目の定植となりました。

Vine type green beans were planted 21days after seeding.

プランターでのトウモロコシとつるありインゲンの組み合わせのコンパニオンの完成です。

Companion plants in container consisted of corn and vine type green beans is completed.

6月19日：雄花（トウモロコシの種まき81日目）/Male flower on 19th June(81 days after seeding)

一番生長の早い株の雄花が咲きました。

One corn plant whose growth is fastest among three has male flower.

6月28日：雌花（トウモロコシの種まき90日目）/Female flower on 28th June(90 days after seeding)

一番生長の早い株の雄花が咲きました。

One corn plant whose growth is fastest among three has female flower.

7月9日：様子（種まき101日目）/Condition on 9th July (101 days after planting)

トウモロコシは、発育不良で、株も小さいままです。

雌花と雄花の時期が合わず、受粉もうまくいっていないようです。

Corn is stunted.

Moreover it seems that pollination is not going well because the timing of flowering between female and male flowers don't match.

7月30日：栽培終了（種まき122日目）/The end of cultivation on 30th July(122 days after planting)

トウモロコシはうまく生長せず、背丈もインゲンの支柱になるには、不十分だったため、ここで栽培終了としました。

来年は、以下を行ってみたいです。

・もう少し暖かい時期にタネを蒔いて、発芽率を上げる

・受粉しやすいように、株の数を増やす

As the corn didn't grow well and the height of corn weren't enough to be a support pole for the green beans, the cultivation was terminated.

Next year, I would like to try the following.

- Increase the sprouting rate by seeding warmer season

- Facilitating pollination by increasing the number of plant

食べるにはほど遠い状態/the condition far from edible
