2022年プランターでのトウモロコシとつるありインゲンの栽培まとめ/Summary of Corn and Vine Type Green Beans Cultivation in Container

2022年のプランターでのトウモロコシ栽培のまとめです。

トウモロコシのコンパニオンプランツとして、つるありインゲンと一緒の栽培に挑戦してみました。

今年は、残念なことに失敗に終わりました。

This is a summary of corn cultivation in container in 2022.

Moreover, I cultivated the vine type green beans as the companion plant for corn.

But, unfortunately, it ended in failure in this year.

3月31日：トウモロコシの種まき/Seeding of corn on 31st March

トウモロコシの種を蒔きました。

I seeded corn in a small pot.

１つのポットに３つぶ種を蒔きました。

I planted three seeds per 1 pot.

4月16日：トウモロコシの発芽（種まき17日目）/Sprout of corn on 16th April (17 days after seeding)

トウモロコシは、種まき後、約17日で発芽しました。

３ポット中、２ポットで、各ポット１本づつ芽がでました。

Corn sprouted 17 days after seeding.

Each one plant sprouted in two pots. But there is no sprout in other one pot. 

5月15日：様子（種まき46日目）/Condition on 15th May (46 days after seeding)

最初に、種を蒔いた９粒うち発芽は、２本のみでした。

また、その２本も生長がまちまちです。

4月30日に追加で、蒔いた種も発芽しています。

Only 2 plants among  9 seed were sprouted.

In addition, the growth of the two plants is uneven.

Seeds which were seeded on 30th April were sprouted.

つるありインゲンの種を蒔きました。

I seeded the vine type green beans  in a small pot.

１つのポットに３つぶ種を蒔きました。

I planted three seeds per 1 pot.

5月22日：つるありインゲンの発芽（種まき8日目）/Sprout of vine type green beans on 22nd May (8 days after seeding)

つるありインゲンが、種まきから１週間で、発芽しました。

種が大きかったことあり、逞しい芽がでています。

Vine type green beans were sprouted  one week after seeding.

6月4日：定植（トウモロコシの種まき66日目）/Planting on 4th June(66 days after seeding)

ジャガイモを収穫した後、トウモロコシとつるありインゲンを定植しました。

トウモロコシは、種まき66日目と種まき36日目の定植となりました。

I planted corn and vine type green beans after harvesting the potatoes.

Corn were planted on the 66 days and the 36 days after seeding.

つるありインゲンは、種まき21日目の定植となりました。

Vine type green beans were planted 21days after seeding.

プランターでのトウモロコシとつるありインゲンの組み合わせのコンパニオンの完成です。

Companion plants in container consisted of corn and vine type green beans is completed.

6月19日：雄花（トウモロコシの種まき81日目）/Male flower on 19th June(81 days after seeding)

一番生長の早い株の雄花が咲きました。

One corn plant whose growth is fastest among three has male flower.

6月28日：雌花（トウモロコシの種まき90日目）/Female flower on 28th June(90 days after seeding)

一番生長の早い株の雄花が咲きました。

One corn plant whose growth is fastest among three has female flower.

7月9日：様子（種まき101日目）/Condition on 9th July (101 days after planting)

トウモロコシは、発育不良で、株も小さいままです。

雌花と雄花の時期が合わず、受粉もうまくいっていないようです。

Corn is stunted.

Moreover it seems that pollination is not going well because the timing of flowering between female and male flowers don't match.

7月30日：栽培終了（種まき122日目）/The end of cultivation on 30th July(122 days after planting)

トウモロコシはうまく生長せず、背丈もインゲンの支柱になるには、不十分だったため、ここで栽培終了としました。

来年は、以下を行ってみたいです。

・もう少し暖かい時期にタネを蒔いて、発芽率を上げる

・受粉しやすいように、株の数を増やす

As the corn didn't grow well and the height of corn weren't enough to be a support pole for the green beans, the cultivation was terminated.

Next year, I would like to try the following.

- Increase the sprouting rate by seeding warmer season

- Facilitating pollination by increasing the number of plant

食べるにはほど遠い状態/the condition far from edible

プランター菜園の失敗談/Story of Failure about the container gardening

2022年7月23日、本日の最高気温は33.6℃、最低気温は25.1℃です。

Maximum temperature is 33.6℃ and minimum temperature is 25.1℃ on July 23rd, 2022.

本日は、プランターの野菜の不調について綴ります。

Today, I will report about bad story of vegetable in the containers.

内容/Content

1.虫：赤シソ/Pest:Red perilla 

2.土寄せ：長ネギ/Earthing up: Scallion

3.病気?：つるありインゲン/Diseases?:Vine Type Green Beans

1.虫：赤シソ/Pest:Red perilla  

赤シソにメイガが、大量に発生し、葉っぱがボロボロです。

去年も、同じ時期に被害に遭いました...

Pests began breeding on the leaves of red perilla. 

I was also suffering from these pest in last year...

2.土寄せ：長ネギ/Earthing up: Scallion

前回の土寄せから、約１か月、長ネギの土寄せしました。

大きくなっているはずと思いきや、まったく太くりません...

I earthed up scallion in the container again one month after last earthing up.

Contrary to my expectation, these scallion have not became bigger.

3.病気?：つるありインゲン/Diseases?:Vine Type Green Beans

つるありインゲンの葉っぱは、写真のような状況です。

病気？かどうか、いまいち不明ですが、生長はいまいちです...

It seems that the growth is not good...

プランターのジャガイモの収穫/Harvest: Potatoes in the container

2022年6月4日、本日の最高気温は25.6℃、最低気温は15.8℃です。

Maximum temperature is 25.6℃ and minimum temperature is 15.8℃ on June 4th, 2022.

内容/Content

1.収穫：ジャガイモ/Harvest: Potatoes

2.収穫：シソ、ニラ、アスパラガス/Harvest: Red Perilla, Garlic Chives and Asparagus

3.定植：トウモロコシ、つるありインゲン/Planting: Corn and Vine Type Green Bean

1.収穫：ジャガイモ/Harvest: Potatoes

植え付けから、102日後、プランターのジャガイモを収穫しました。

葉っぱは、やや黄色がかったところでしたが、来週も雨予報だったため、収穫しました。

Potatoes the container were harvested 102 days after planting.

These leaves were not enough to get yellowish yet, but I harvested them because the weather forecast said it rain next week.

プランターの１つ目、種イモは、1/2サイズ１個でしたが、結構な量がとれました。

The number of 1/2-size seed potato was one in the first container, but it was enough amount to harvest.

プランターの２つ目、種イモは、1/2サイズ３個、こちらもまずますです。

大きさは、どちらかと言うと小ぶりでした。

The number of 1/2-size seed potato were three in the second container, but it was also enough amount to harvest.

The size was little bit small.

最後、地植えスペース、種イモは、1/2サイズ４個、こちらもまずますです。

The number of 1/2-size seed potato were four in the ground planting space, but it was also enough amount to harvest.

結果、種イモ４個から、今年は、↓この量のジャガイモが収穫できました。

Totally, I harvested the following amount by four seed potatoes!!

2.収穫：シソ、ニラ、アスパラガス/Harvest:Red Perilla, Garlic Chives and Asparagus

シソ、ニラ、アスパラガスを収穫しました。

シソは、ナスの周りで、いつのまにか大きくなったものです。

I harvested red perilla, garlic chives and asparagus

Red perilla getting bigger around the eggplant.

今シーズン４本目のアスパラガスです。

たいぶ、細くなってきたので、これで、今シーズンは最後かもしれません。

This is the fourth harvest of asparagus this season.

It was a little bit thin. I guess it would be last harvest in this season. 

3.定植：トウモロコシ、つるありインゲン/Planting:  Corn and Vine Type Green Bean

ジャガイモを収穫した後、トウモロコシとつるありインゲンを定植しました。

トウモロコシは、種まき66日目、種まき36日目の定植となりました。

I planted corn and vine type green beans after harvesting the potatoes.

Corn were planted on the 66 days and the 36 days after seeding.

つるありインゲンは、種まき21日目の定植となりました。

Vine type green beans were planted 21days after seeding.

プランターでのトウモロコシとつるありインゲンの組み合わせのコンパニオンの完成です。

つるありインゲンの発芽/Sprout :Vine Type Green Beans

2022年5月22日、本日の最高気温は25.9℃、最低気温は14.0℃です。

Maximum temperature is 25.9℃ and minimum temperature is 14.0℃ on May 22nd, 2022.

内容/Content

1.発芽：つるありインゲン/Sprout :Vine Type Green Beans

2.収穫：ニラ、ワイルドベリー/Harvest:  Wild strawberry and Asparagus.

種まきから１週間で、つるありインゲンが発芽しました。

種が大きかったことあり、逞しい芽がでています。

Vine type green beans were sprouted  one week after seeding.

The sprouts are larger and looks strong because of large seeds.

2.収穫：ニラ、ワイルドベリー/Harvest:  Wild strawberry and Asparagus.

ワイルドベリー、アスパラガスを収穫しました。

I harvested the wild strawberry and asparagus.

今シーズン3本目のアスパラガスです。

This is the third harvest of asparagus this season.

プランターのキュウリの植え付け再び等/Planting Cucumber again in the container

2022年5月15日、本日の最高気温は19.8℃、最低気温は16.4℃です。

Maximum temperature is 19.8℃ and minimum temperature is 16.4℃ on May 15th, 2022.

内容/Content

1.植え付け：キュウリ/Planting :Cucumber

2.種まき：つるありインゲン/Seeding:Vine Type Green Beans

3.土寄せ：長ネギ/Earthing up: Scallion

4.収穫：ニラ、ワイルドベリー/Harvest: Garlic chives and Wild strawberry

1.植え付け：キュウリ/Planting :Cucumber

4月末に定植したキュウリが枯れてしまったので、再度、キュウリの苗を購入し、定植しました。

Cucumber which was planted on the end of April was died,  I planted the store-bought seedlings of cucumbers again.

2.種まき：つるありインゲン/Seeding :Vine Type Green Beans

つるありインゲンの種を蒔きました。

将来的に、トウモロコシと同じプランターに定植予定です。

I seeded the vine type green beans.

I will plant it in the container with corn in the future.

１つのポットに３つぶ種を蒔きました。

I planted three seeds per 1 pot.

3.土寄せ：長ネギ/Earthing up: Scallion 

長ネギが大きくなってきたので土寄せしました（プランターなので、土の追加）。

土は、分岐しているところまで追加ました。

I earthed up scallion in the container as it got bigger.

I added soil up to the point where scallion stalk were diverged.

4.収穫：ニラ、ワイルドベリー、アスパラガス/Harvest: Garlic chives, Wild strawberry and Asparagus

ニラ、ワイルドベリー、アスパラガスを収穫しました。

ニラは、前回の収穫から２週間で、まとまった量がとれました。

I harvest the garlic chives, wild strawberry and asparagus.

The the amount of garlic chives was enough 2 week after last harvest.

ワイルドベリーの大きまはまちまちですが、アイスにのせるくらいの量がとれました。

Although the size of the wild strawberry varies, these are enough amount to put on ice cream.

今シーズン２本目のアスパラガスです。

This is the second asparagus this season.
